Introduction from Rev’d Barbara Dennis

Here is a bit about myself as requested, I’m not very good at writing about

myself I’m afraid but here we go.

Ordained 1997. Present post as Associate Priest at St Edward’s

The Confessor Romford and

Town Centre Chaplain and Met Police Chaplain and Assistant Area Dean.

I have 2 lovely Grown Up Sons and a lovely Daughter in Law.

I am engaged to be married to a serving Met Police Officer.

Likes Horse Riding, Walking, Reading, having Meals with Friends.

Dislikes Celery!

In my previous working life I was a Youth Worker in Havering working with

16-25 year olds who were unemployed.

I am very much looking forward to working with you all in the Upper Colne

Parishes and with the surrounding communities.

It will be a very different context to the one I am in now, but I feel that I will be

able to transfer a lot of my skills to the new job. I served my curacy with the

Reverend Stephen Waine (Bishop John Waine’s son), so I have been taught

well. I have also been comprehensive school chaplain and in my capacity as

a priest worked with primary school children in Romford. I am very much a ‘roll

up your sleeves’ and muck in person and I love working with and alongside

people.

I feel very blessed by God to have been given the job as Priest in Charge and

look forward to joining you all in March.

Yours in Christ Reverend Barbara Dennis.
